The Downtown Development Authority in partnership with the City of Lafayette, Walker-Lafayette Library Teen Advisory Board & Randy Cumbee (Owner of Daddy & Me) will be building & installing 2 “Little Free Libraries” at Joe Stock Park & Lafayette Municipal Park.
The libraries will be stocked with surplus books from Walker-Lafayette library and will be stocked by the library teen advisory board. The theme of the project is “take a book, return a book”. Basically it is a free library where citizens may read a book while at the park, or take a book home with you, its free!
The Little Free Libraries will be dedicated in conjunction with United Way’s Read-A-Palooza at Joe Stock Park on Saturday, October 4th at 11am.
If you have any questions about the Little Free Library project, see any DDA member or contact Matthew Williams at mwilliams@cityoflafayettega.org.

Lafayette/ Walker Library is doing a fundraiser for the children’s group of the library. As most of you know Johnny Cash played a benefit concert in Lafayette in August 1970, and this reimagined poster helps to celebrate that event. For more information see the sell sheet link below or contact Karen Thompson at the library at 706-638-2992.
