The City of LaFayette Fire Department thru a program sponsored by the Red Cross will be installing smoke detector’s in homes, free of charge, on Saturday, September 12th from 9am-3pm.
If your home needs a smoke detector, or if you have questions regarding this program, call LaFayette F.D. at 706-639-1555 or email rbusby@cityoflafayettega.org to reserve your smoke detector.

NOTIFICATION OF WATER OUTAGE
The City of LaFayette has scheduled a water outage for Wednesday, August 12, 2015. This outage will begin approximately 8:00 A.M and completed by approximately 11:00 A.M
This water outage is necessary to make a tie-in at the West Reed’s Road pump station.
The following areas may be affected: Brown Estates, Emerald Acres, East Reed’s Road, Glenn Eden Way, Ringgold Road and West Reed’s Road.
We apologize for this interruption to your water service and will make every effort to restore your service as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Water Department at 706-639-1561 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. Monday-Friday.

The City of Lafayette will be applying for a $500,000 (CDBG) Community Development Block Grant to replace the water main on S. Chattanooga Street from Pattten Street to Pledger Pkwy. This requires a matching of $25,000, and a estimated leverage of $125,000 for the (estimated) project cost of $650,000.

The entry form for the 2014 Christmas parade is now available. The Christmas Parade will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 6:00pm.
All entry forms must be turned in by Monday, December 1st, 2014. No new entries will be allowed on the day of the parade.
